King Lear was the father of two sons and a daughter.The eldest was one of his sons named Gon,who often though with the slightly younger middle child Regan his only daughter,He was a very sporty boy who played lots of contact sports such as rugby and ice hockey along with american football.Regan was very popular at school but over the years her popularity got to her head so now she feels like she’s constantly on cloud nine and that every body else who’s not in her posse are invisible.Then there was the youngest son who played football and was quite good at it but was very small and puny so he always remained.                                                                              

KING LEAR

I have divided up my comapanies so that I can split them three ways.Well before I decide who I give my very well known away.Who will convince me to give up my company as I slowly crawl to my death and pass on my legacy as an entrepreneur to younger strengths who can carry on my business for many years after I die.

GON

Father I love you more than if I were to win the NFL and the Ruby world cup all in one week . I love you more than the ability to run,walk and throw. I love you more than any material pleasure u could ever dream of and more than my wife and children.

GONS WIFE

Honey,do you really mean that?

GON

Shhhhhh,dear I’m speaking to paps man can’t you leave me alone well talk about this at home.

CORDELIES

What shall I do lie lie like my siblings and take a great pleasure or be honest and hope that my father see the good and honesty and give me the largest area of the company rather than to my brother  and  sister for being dishonest?

KING LEAR

I’ve heard enough where’s my beloved Regan si that I may continue dividing up my brands to my lovely children. Bring her before me.

REGANI

I can only express my love for you as my older brothers but with my hobbies and instead of my ability to walk,run and throw but rather lose my popularity . There is only one other way that I can express my love for you at that is to say I love you daddy almost as much as I love myself . My brother loves you greatly bit not as much as me he falls at the last hurdle of love whereas I swiftly rip through the finish line at the end of the race.

CORDELIAS

What should I do lie or be honest . And I like I’m doing the right thing even though  He’d rather see my love expressed to him or would he rather me to describe my love fo ryou such as how you’ll rather see a person score a hat rick rather than listen to the commentators.

CORDELIUS

(Cordelius moves towards the audience and and quietly says) ”then what should poor little Cordelius do.I show my true love and get no recognition so should I pretend I love him but are my words more loving then my heart.

After spending time contemplating whether or not she should change her answer to the kinds word she goes of to him and says’Nothing’

For that reason king Lear speaks up to the whole court and publicly announces that she is forever banished.

In this essay,which is based on shakespear’s play king Lear,I will discuss the difference’s of the kings three daughters. There names are Goneril,Regan and Cordlia. This essay will also describe how they express there love towards there father and who seems to be telling the truth when they are all asked the question.Who doth love us most? Who will be honest and who will lie to there dear father and care about themselves .In order to get the most land.

This paragraph is based around the oldest sister Goneril. Even though, Goneril  is the the oldest and should me the most mature and caring as she spent more time with him over the years in my opinion she seems to be the vaguest daughter out of all of them.She also seems to be fake as she says ‘Sir I ,love you more than words can wield the matter’ but when she says Sir I love you more than words can wield the matter however in the next section she continues to say how much she loves him. For that reason I feel Goneril doesn’t deserve the most land but rather shouldn’t even take any land away from her father but be left empty handed.

Regan the sister to Goneril and Cordlia expresses her love for her father by following of her sisters point in saying she truly loves her father but says’In my true heart I find she names my very deed of love ;Only she comes to short’.By saying this she shows she’s as fake as her sister because she says she states all the things she would say to her father but adds on she only comes to short.As I though her sisters description of her love was fake if she agree’s with everything her sister said so if what her sister said was fraud what she says must be fake.

The youngest daughter,who is called Cordlia,in my opinion is not only the wisest but also the most truthfula judging on how she shows her love to her quit ignorant father.She shows this by continuously saying nothing my lord when being asked the question.’What can you say to draw a third opulent than your sisters?After being asked the question Cordlia modestly says nothing my lord?Two lines later after Nothing in a rage he states that nothing will come of nothing to Cordlia. She then says ‘I love your majesty according to my bond; nor more nor less’.Unlike her sisters Cordlia chooses not to be disingenuous Unluckily her father sees her humble modest act as a lack of love and disowns her. Earlier when her sisters where describing there love to there father she makes a question for her to ask she says this while at the edge of the stage almost anonamas but to the audience as well. ‘At the side she says’ What shall Cordlia do? Love, and be silent than later on she says’ Then poor Cordlia!And yet not so;since, I am sure,my love’s more richer than my tongue. This revellers that Cordlia would rather let her father see she loves him and lose the chance of the most land so she doesn’t have to over exadurate on how much she loves her beloved father and king.

King Lear,which is the title of the play,seems to be a self centred person who can’t believe on his own if he’s good but rather needs other people to say it to him to be content . One of the ways he shows this is how he asked the question to his three daughters love him the most. He also disowns his youngest daughter as a result of her not telling him how wonderful he is but saying that her bond expresses her love.

In conclusion I believe that Shakespeare presents Cordelia as a kind and loving but is so kind and loving and her sisters arnt she seems to get very little recognition..As she has shown modesty and well rounded love where as her fellow sister clearly over exaggerated there love for there father with one selfish intent to gain land for themselves and there husband.Both Goneril and Regan where mean and Manipulative towards King lear using words as if trying to lure him into a trap.
